#PilipinasHD - For a higher definition of the True Filipino!

I was happy to attend PilipinasHD's kickoff party. I thought that this event is the typical launching of a new cable channel but I was totally wrong.

With the aim of celebrating the country's legacy through shows that portray Filipino bravery and traditions, PilipinasHD intends to hinder exoticism of our culture by digging deep into our nation's history. The channel engages different Filipino communities to educate, contemplate and revisit our culture that is rich in heroism of our own blood line.

The Pilipinas HD launch was graced by a stellar cast of political leaders, sports stars, and community movers who are one in the goal of seeing the best in the Filipino that included International bowling hall of famer Paeng Nepomuceno, Philippine Television pioneer and former Senator Eddie Ilarde, MTRCB Chairman Atty. Toto Villareal and Mandaluyong Mayor Benhur Abalos.

Nepomuceno lauded Trinidad’s pioneering effort to showcase the indomitable spirit of the Filipino not just in sports but in everyday life.

Ilarde, on the other hand, said that he is proud to be part of a great moment in media history.

Abalos, a historian by academic training, also pledged support and thanked Trinidad for giving him the opportunity to do what he has long wanted to do— that is, show the world that Filipinos are a great people.

Some of the shows one can anticipate from PilipinasHD:

Duyan Ng Magiting (Cradle of Great Men and Women) is a show which relives the greatness of those who built the Philippines with their blood and sacrifices.

FilipiKnow on the other hand, explores the little-known facts about Philippine history and culture and anything in between.

Grid is a magazine format show which believes that travel is about experience not just the destinations.

Panatang Pilipino (Pledge of the Filipino People) is a show that compiles the aspirations and promises of a nation.

Ugat ng Lahi (Roots of Nation) will cover people from indigenous tribes all over the country.

Storya ng Bayan (Story of Town) brings the audience closer to places one has been in to or places one wants to visit around the Philippines.

PilipinasHD will be made available FOR FREE in cable television starting June 12, 2016 until end of the month. Subscription options will be made available July 2016.
