#Cinemalaya - Dagsin

The Story:

After surviving the Death March, Martial Law and the loss of his legs, Justino became an atheist. But when his wife dies, a part of him is yearning to believe in life beyond death; just for a chance to be with her again. Searching for parts of her he can still hold on to, he devours her diaries for information into their past --opening a Pandora's Box of secrets.

TOMMY ABUEL (JUSTINO): Is a veteran award winning stage and screen actor. Mr. Abuel, a trained lawyer, has graced the silver screen for several decades and has worked with industry legends like Ishmael Bernal, Lino Brocka, Mike De Leon. He credits his theater training for the discipline he is famous for. A consummate actor, he continues to hone his craft with his signature intensity and dedication.

LOTLOT DE LEON (MERCY): She has been in front of the camera since she was four-years old, Ms. De Leon has embraced “the work” as a part of her life, much like breathing. A constant in both silver and television screens, she is a brave and versatile actor unafraid to explore and breathe life into characters with a wide spectrum of strengths and vulnerabilities.  
BENJAMIN ALVES (YOUNG JUSTINO): A young dedicated actor and lover of Literature, who graduated summa cum laude from the University of Guam, Ben seeks to embody the complexity of every role he portrays. Whether in film or television, he is tirelessly dedicated and relishes every chance he gets to inhabit both the mind and the motivation of his characters. 

JANINE GUTIERREZ (YOUNG CORAZON): A sweet beautiful lady with classic features and quiet strength, Janine comes from an illustrious showbiz family and is steeping with talent. Although treading a path foreshadowed by her parents and grandparents, she proves to be a force to recon with. Never complacent, she clearly aims to carve a path uniquely her own. 

Alex Diaz (JUNIOR): A vibrant multi-talented actor, singer and host, Alex is indeed a young man rallying with possibilities. Of Filipino-Scottish ancestry, he manages to harness the best of both worlds as he maximizes both talent and opportunity to enhance and further his experience in the business he was clearly born to be a part of.

SUE PRADO (GRACE): An award winning actress, Sue has a tactile strength on-screen and off. Organically possessing the honesty intrinsic to her every scene and performance, she is able to consciously embody the roles that she portrays. A talented maven of independent cinema, she always seeks to find and realize the true voice of her art in both body and soul.      

MARITA ZOBEL (CORAZON): A timeless beauty from the Golden Age of Philippine Cinema, Ms. Zobel has graced countless films and is still the affable lady everyone has grown to know and love. Both an actress and a singer, she is one of the most respected members of country’s film community. Distinguished and timeless, she elevates any production by mere presence. 

ROLANDO INOCENCIO (SEVERINO): Is a character actor of stage and screen. A veteran of Cinemalaya, Roli has been a constant fixture in both commercial and independent film productions. Managing a career from both sides of a coin, he is also proficient behind the camera; as he is also a teacher and an awarded production designer.  

YOSHIHIKO HARA (TANAKA): An actor from, “The Land of the Rising Sun,” Hara currently resides in the Philippines and enjoys the country and its people. Part Filipino, he relishes the opportunities he’s had to work both in cinema and television here, and wishes to be able to find characters for himself in both countries.      

ARPEE BAUTISTA (FR. CONSTANTINO): Having been a part of more than a handful of independent productions, Arpee still remains unassuming and fully respects the dignity and unique stories of independent cinema. He is grateful for the chance to collaborate closely with his directors and fellow actors as he endeavors to draw his every character with finer lines.
