EXPERIENCE: Visita Iglesia 2013

Visita Iglesia, which literally mean church visit,  was introduced by the Spanish colonizers where Christians would visit churches during Maundy Thursday.

Since 2010, we're practicing Visita Iglesia every Maundy Thursday as our way of sacrifice and practice of faith in lieu of the Holy Week. This year is our 3rd year to visit churches within Batangas area. My oldest sister, her husband - Kuya Michael and our cousin - Ate Joy decided to join me in this year's Visita Iglesia.

Traditionally, seven (7) churches are visited with two stations per visit. Other Christians, with more time and effort, visit fourteen (14). Let me share to you the churches we've visited this year (in order of visit):

Saint Vincent Ferrer Parish Church - San Vicente, Banay Banay, Lipa City, Batangas

St. Joseph Church - San Jose, Batangas

Basilica de San Martin de Tours - Taal, Batangas

Shrine of Our Lady of Caysasay - Caysasay, Taal, Batangas

St. Benedict Monastery -  Pinagtung-Ulan, Lipa City

Sto. Nino Parish Church - Pinagtung Ulan, Lipa City

I hope that you guys are having a fruitful Holy Week. Thank you Lord for the gift of life, for the gift of wisdom, knowledge and grace and for your unending guidance to us. We LOVE you..!
