#MusicPH - Henry Moodie Unveils Captivating New Single “Beat Up Car”

Future global pop sensation Henry Moodie has recently dropped his remarkable new single, “Beat Up Car,” in collaboration with Robots & Humans (UK), Columbia Records (US), and Sony Music Entertainment. Accompanying the release is an evocative music video.

The track follows the regional triumph of his previous hit, “Drunk Text,” which soared to No. 1 on streaming platforms in Malaysia and Indonesia, making waves across Southeast Asia. Notably, “Drunk Text” also inspired covers by NCT’s Chenle, Paolo of Ben&Ben, and Paolo Sandejas.

In “Beat Up Car,” Henry Moodie once again showcases his extraordinary vocal prowess. The heart of the single lies in his exquisite vocals, complemented by sublime production that weaves intricate guitar melodies into an invigorating beat. The result is a beautiful and charming ballad that resonates deeply with fans and new listeners alike. The accompanying music video, directed by Ned Botwood, further solidifies Henry Moodie’s status as one of the most promising UK pop stars of our time.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind “Beat Up Car,” Henry shares, “The song is a daydream about escaping with someone who makes life less daunting. When I’m feeling low, I have a few people I can call to remind me of life’s beautiful aspects—love and friendship. I wanted this song to evoke feelings of upliftment and cinematic wonder, much like being with a soulmate.”

At the tender age of 19, Henry Moodie has already achieved an impressive milestone: over 250 million streams worldwide. His meteoric rise includes securing a spot among the Top 10 most viewed UK artists on TikTok in 2022 and earning recognition as one of Amazon Music’s Artists To Watch in 2023.

Henry’s journey began after completing a songwriting diploma at the esteemed music school BIMM. As a solo musician and songwriter, he effortlessly channels emotional vulnerability into his work, crafting timeless lyrics that resonate deeply with listeners.

In the winter of 2023, Henry unveiled his debut EP, “In All of My Lonely Nights”. The EP garnered a combined 250 million streams, featuring standout tracks like the self-penned and produced “You Were There for Me”, the global hit “Drunk Text”, and the heartfelt ballad “Pick Up the Phone”, which amassed 350,000 streams on its very first day.

Henry’s star power extends beyond the studio. His inaugural headline UK and European tour sold out within days, and he has also supported fellow artists Mimi Webb and Lauren Spencer-Smith. Currently, Henry is embarking on his most ambitious solo tour yet, with over 15,000 tickets sold across the UK, Europe, and the USA, along with festival appearances in Asia during the summer.

Keep an eye on this rising talent—Henry Moodie is poised to become a household name in the music scene!
