#CinemalayaX - Guide to Cinemalaya 10: A DECADE of CONNECTING DIMENSIONS



For a couple years, JULY marks the CINEMALAYA - the Philippine Independent Film Festival in the country. This year, the films are set to make waves for the month of AUGUST as the festival turns it's 10th year in existence.

25 powerful stories from 25 filmmakers revel in the spirit of high-quality indie filmmaking as Cinemalaya continues to stir the sensibilities of the Filipino audience on its 10th year.

The Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival, the first and leading independent film festival in the country, brings once again the most compelling and authentic storytelling by 10 new provocateurs in this year’s New Breed competition.

Each group will have the same schedule of screenings from August 2-10, 2014... Aug 1 (Friday) is the Opening Ceremonies at the CCP Main Theater Lobby at 6pm, followed by the Opening Film (to be announced) at the CCP Main Theater.

Cinemalaya is an all-digital film festival and competition that aims to discover, encourage and honor cinematic works of Filipino filmmakers. In addition to New Breed category, which is the main competition category, and the Directors Showcase, Cinemalaya has a Short Film competition and other sections for exhibition films. Cinemalaya is a project of the Cinemalaya Foundation, Inc. and Cultural Center of the Philippines.
