#UPNorth Series: Exploring Ili-Likha Artist Village!

Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a great day! As part of my #UpNorth Travel Series, I will share to you a MUST visit destination when you’re in Baguio, Ili-Likha Artist Village.

Tara! Come in!

Ili-Likha Artist Village is a one of a kind place created by people who loves art coming from its seven fields. Writers, painters, singers, musicians, wood carvers to name a few spend most of their time here to collaborate,  connect with nature and interact with like minded people. This is an inspiring surreal space which offers food for the mind, body and soul. From the outside, it looks like a junk repository as the structure is ongoing development that’s why the hub was named “ililikha”.

View from afar.

The creation of this village is spearheaded by Mr. Eric de Guia also known as Kidlat Tahimik, the same person behind the vegetarian restaurant “Oh My Gulay”. The inspiration comes from keeping Baguio woody which shows Kidlat’s love for trees.

Everywhere I looked there's something vibrant, colorful and interesting. Everything keeps on evolving.  Random chunks of wood, twisted metal, and even old bicycle frames are used all around this art haven. At first, everything seems to have been haphazardly built on top each other with no real plan. But if you look closely, it actually provide walkways, stairs and banisters that lead to different spots that just evolve organically over time.

Patterns. Patterns. Patterns.

Azalea Residences Baguio offers this destination as part of their family fun adventure or group getaway packages. I returned to my hotel room inspired, cultured and wanted to go back to ignite the fire in me.
