#CulturePH - Hearts, Healing, and One Artist Ready for Her Next Chapter

February always has a way of turning the world into a tug‑of‑war between romance and reality. Some people walk around with flowers and promises, while others quietly nurse the kind of heartache that doesn’t fit into a Hallmark card. And somewhere in the middle of all that, a new kind of celebration is about to happen in Mandaluyong—one that embraces the beautifully complicated space in between.

This year, dwta is stepping into that space with Where Do Broken Hearts Go? Sa Gig ni dwta, her self‑produced anti‑Valentine’s show happening on February 13, 2026 at 123 Block. It’s a night designed for anyone whose relationship status is “still figuring it out,” and honestly, that alone makes it feel refreshing.

What makes this moment even more special is how deeply tied it is to dwta’s own artistic journey. She’s gently closing the book on her whimsical folk era—the one that carried her through soft metaphors, candid storytelling, and all those raw little truths she slips into her lyrics. Now, she’s quietly preparing for a new chapter with a new sound, a new look, and a more grounded version of herself.

And she’s not stepping into that spotlight alone. Sharing the stage with her are shirebound, Janine TeƱoso, Jan Roberts, Kenaniah, and LEYO—artists who know how to tell stories of their own. Add in local creatives like Hunghang Flashbacks, Amoy Scents and Candles, and Tattoo Studio PH, and the whole night becomes less of a gig and more of a gathering. A space where artists, makers, and music lovers intersect over shared feelings and shared healing.

Just recently, dwta also released her 2026 debut: a tender, stripped‑down cover of “Ang Pag‑ibig Kong Ito.” Her version feels like a quiet whisper in a dim room—slow, intimate, and emotionally honest in the way only she can deliver. With producer Brian Lotho, she leaned into a softer arrangement built on acoustic guitar and delicate strings. No grand gestures, no loud declarations—just a moment of vulnerability suspended in sound.

And that’s the energy her upcoming show seems to carry. Not a rebellion against love, but an embrace of everything that comes after the fairytale fades: growth, honesty, and the courage to start again. It’s a celebration of hearts that didn’t break quietly—and are still beating anyway.

If you’ve ever wanted to sit in a room where music holds your hand a little, where the air feels thick with stories you don’t have to explain, this might be the night you didn’t know you needed.

A new era is coming for dwta, and it feels pretty special that we get to see the transition unfold right in front of us.
