#TechPH - realme 16 Series 5G Unveiled: First Look at the 200MP Portrait Master Ahead of Local Launch

realme is set to launch the newest addition to its Number Series, the highly anticipated realme 16 Series 5G. With a focus on tactile materials, refined aesthetics, and upgraded portrait capabilities, this Series is set to be one of the most iconic lineups yet in the Number Series.

Nature-inspired Design Aesthetics

At the core of the Series’ design update is the Urban Wild Design, created in collaboration with renowned Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa. The concept blends the raw, organic feel of nature with sleek urban aesthetics.

Leading the lineup is the 16 Pro+ 5G in Master Gold – evoking a sunlit wheat field – followed by the 16 Pro 5G, which comes in Pebble Grey reminiscent of smooth river pebbles, with an Orchid Purple colorway rounding out the collection. The realme 16 Pro+ 5G features a bio-based silicone back panel derived from plant-based straw, offering a soft, polished texture that is both durable and resistant to dirt and wear.

Moving to the standard realme 16 5G, realme has opted for a more minimalist "Air" aesthetic in White and Black. Interestingly, the base model ditches the Pro’s rounded square module for a horizontal camera strip, where the selfie mirror sits neatly beside the main camera.

This attention to design detail extends beyond appearance, as the series also introduces advanced photography features that match its premium feel.

 200MP Portrait Master Takes Center Stage

Beyond design, the realme 16 Pro Series 5G elevates smartphone photography with the 200MP Multi-focal Camera system. Apart from the 200MP OIS main, the realme 16 Pro+ 5G is equipped with a 50MP 3.5x telephoto lens, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP front camera, capable of capturing everything from zoomed-in portraits to wide group shots and high-quality selfies.

It also debuts the industry’s first TÜV Rheinland-certified LumaColor Image Camera, which enhances color, balances lighting between subject and background, and renders natural skin tones for vibrant, lifelike photos. The realme 16 Pro 5G features a 200MP OIS main and 8MP ultra-wide, while the realme 16 5G features a 50MP Sony IMX852 main rear camera and a 50MP front camera, providing reliable performance for everyday photography.

The realme 16 Series 5G will officially launch in the Philippines on April 23 at 5.30 PM via a livestream on the realme official Facebook channel.
