#FinancePH - Banking Where You Are: How BPI Is Rooting Its Presence Across Luzon
Think about the places that anchor your everyday life—the corner store you trust, the café that knows your order, the branch that feels familiar even when you’re rushing through errands. For many Filipinos, banking isn’t just about transactions; it’s about accessibility, trust, and the comfort of knowing your financial partner is close by. That’s the story BPI is telling as it spotlights its presence across Luzon.
With 234 BPI branches, 218 BanKo branches, and 23 LSB branches spread across the region, the Bank of the Philippine Islands is weaving itself into the fabric of communities. Beyond these physical locations, BPI reaches even further through 2,746 Agency Banking partner stores—local access points that make essential services available without the need to travel far. It’s a network designed not just for convenience, but for connection.
Cathy Santamaria, BPI’s Chief Customer and Marketing Officer, explains it simply: “Luzon is home to diverse communities with different needs and aspirations. Our presence across the region allows us to be closer to our customers and support them where they are.” It’s a reminder that banking isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s about meeting people where they live, work, and dream.
One standout example is the BPI Angeles–Sto. Rosario branch, located within the Angeles City Heritage Zone. Built in the 1980s as a former FEBTC branch, it now follows architectural guidelines that preserve the character of the historic core. It’s a symbol of how banking can blend with heritage, respecting the past while serving the present.
But presence isn’t just about geography—it’s also about sustainability. Across Luzon, 100 BPI branches are now powered entirely by clean energy. Thirty of these transitioned recently through the Retail Aggregation Program, which allows businesses to combine power requirements and choose renewable sources. It’s part of BPI’s broader push to reduce its carbon footprint and embed sustainability into its operations. Banking, in this sense, becomes more than financial—it becomes environmental, a commitment to future generations.
As BPI celebrates its 175th anniversary, the message is clear: longevity isn’t just about surviving years; it’s about evolving with them. From heritage zones to renewable energy, from partner stores to digital access, BPI is showing that presence means more than being visible—it means being relevant.
For customers, this presence translates into something tangible. It’s the reassurance that whether you’re in a bustling city or a quiet town, your financial partner is within reach. It’s the confidence that your transactions are supported by a legacy of service, but also by a forward-looking vision that embraces sustainability and innovation.
Ultimately, BPI’s presence across Luzon is more than a map of branches. It’s a story of how banking can root itself in communities, adapt to their needs, and grow alongside them. It’s about proving that financial institutions can be both historic and modern, both local and expansive, both practical and visionary.
And in a time when trust and accessibility matter more than ever, that kind of presence isn’t just strategy—it’s service.
