#FoodPH - Friendship, Food, and Fantasy: Jollibee Joins DreamWorks’ Forgotten Island Adventure
Imagine discovering that the price of returning home from an adventure is losing every memory of that bond. That’s the emotional heartbeat of Forgotten Island, DreamWorks Animation’s new film arriving in theaters worldwide on September 23, 2026.
At its center are Jo and Raissa, lifelong best friends who stumble upon a portal to Nakali, a fantastical island inspired by Filipino folklore. Here, mythical creatures leap from the stories they grew up hearing—from the terrifying manananggal to whimsical companions who help them along the way. But the stakes are high: leaving Nakali could mean forgetting each other forever.
The film’s Filipino connection runs deep. The voice cast includes icons like Lea Salonga, Jo Koy, H.E.R., and Liza Soberano, alongside co-writer and co-director Januel Mercado. It’s a lineup that blends global star power with Filipino storytelling, ensuring the film resonates both at home and abroad.
For Jollibee, the collaboration is more than marketing—it’s a celebration of what the brand has always stood for: joy, togetherness, and the simple magic of sharing a meal. “Great stories and great food both have a way of bringing people together,” said David Beal, Jollibee Group’s global chief marketing officer. The partnership invites families to experience the film and then extend that joy over Chickenjoy or Jolly Spaghetti, turning cinema into connection.
Music adds another layer to the collaboration. Filipino girl group BINI, who are also Jollibee endorsers, contributed A Parallel World to the soundtrack. The upbeat track, blending English and Filipino lyrics, was performed at San Diego Comic-Con and accompanied by a music video featuring candid moments of the group enjoying Jollibee meals in the U.S. It’s a reminder that the joy of friendship isn’t confined to the screen—it spills into everyday life.
Dorothy Ching, Jollibee Philippines’ VP for marketing, emphasized how meaningful the partnership is: “Forgotten Island brings together universal themes of friendship and family with Filipino-inspired storytelling. We are proud to be part of this global collaboration and excited to bring the spirit of the film to Jollibee communities around the world.”
The collaboration bridges entertainment and dining, myth and memory, global reach and Filipino roots. It’s not just about watching a movie—it’s about living its themes in everyday moments, whether through laughter with friends or sharing food that feels like home.
As DreamWorks’ Forgotten Island prepares to enchant audiences, Jollibee reminds us that the joy of friendship is best celebrated together—on screen, at the table, and in the stories we carry with us long after the credits roll.
