#CulturePH - BDO Supports Water Infrastructure Projects in Metro Manila and Bulacan

A Public Private Partnership (PPP) project of the national government, the Bulacan Bulk Water Supply Project (BBWSP), has been assigned to LCWDC, a MWSS concessionaire, to offer water services to the entire province of Bulacan. LCWDC aids in resolving problems that the Bulacan water districts face, including insufficient water supply, low water pressure brought on by constrained distribution systems, and saline water incursion into the groundwater. By consistently increasing its service area and providing dependable, clean water, it contributes to enhancing the quality of life for those living in Bulacan.

The three-stage BBWSP water treatment facility and pipeline conveyance infrastructure was built to meet Bulacan's rising need for potable water that is both affordable and environmentally friendly. It is in line with the objective and vision of San Miguel Corporation to effect positive change and is supported by a strong sense of social and environmental responsibility to offer essential goods and services to all Filipinos.

The majority of the BBWSP's funding came from BDO Unibank, which also assisted in extending the long-term loan arrangement utilized to pay for the project's first and second stages of construction, which involved the treatment and distribution of bulk water to 13 local government units in Bulacan.

“BDO has been very supportive to us in LCWDC especially in the financing requirements of the BBWSP. Our business relationship with BDO has blossomed since we started banking with them 2016 and today, it lends support to other projects pursued by the San Miguel group. Living up to its promise to clients of finding ways, BDO is truly our reliable partner as we continue to build a better world for the Filipinos,” said Raoul C. Romulo, Director of Luzon Clean Water Development Corporation.

In keeping with its mission to help create a more sustainable future, BDO Unibank also supplied the necessary funding for another significant project, the Wawa Bulk Water Supply Project of Wawa JVCo, a subsidiary of Prime Infra, the infrastructure division of the Razon Group.

One of the key initiatives taken by the Philippine government to address the water problem in Metro Manila and the province of Rizal is the Wawa Bulk Water Supply Project. It is also intended to safeguard the lower areas in Rizal, Marikina, and Pasig as well as the eastern section of Metro Manila from flooding issues brought on by typhoons.

The development of the Wawa Bulk Water Supply Project is in line with Prime Infra's mission to improve Filipinos' quality of life through essential infrastructure while also having a beneficial social and economic impact on the areas in which it operates. Given the size of the Wawa project, Prime Infra makes sure that sustainable and cutting-edge practices are implemented, such as environmental preservation and reservoir preservation.

"The Razon Group and BDO have a history of working together. Guillaume Lucci, President and CEO of Prime Infrastructure Capital Inc., stated, "We highly value our partnership with BDO and continue to award the bank a large portion of our business."

“The Razon Group has long-time dealings with BDO.  We highly value our relationship with BDO and continue to accord the bank a significant portion of our business,” said Guillaume Lucci, President and CEO of Prime Infrastructure Capital Inc.

BDO Unibank is committed to encouraging a more sustainable environment and water use efficiency, and it will keep funding infrastructure projects to create jobs, support the economy, and advance the country. The Bank's steadfast backing of these programs complements the government's efforts to hasten economic growth.
