#MusicPH - SB19 and Spotify Just Dropped a Whole New Way to Experience the Simula at Wakas Era

SB19 is back—and they’re not just making waves with their latest EP, Simula at Wakas. They’re changing the game. In a move that blends music, fandom, and digital adventure, Spotify has launched BALASA, a brand-new in-app experience that lets A’TIN dive deeper into this bold new chapter.

So, what exactly is BALASA? Think of it as a fandom-powered quest. Hidden within the This Is SB19 playlist are five special BALASA cards—each one representing a member of the group. Fans can unlock them by streaming and sharing the right tracks, with clues tucked into the Canvas visuals that loop while the songs play. It’s a musical scavenger hunt that rewards passion and participation.

But that’s just the beginning.

Earlier this month, SB19 made history by hosting Spotify’s first-ever Listening Party led by a Filipino act. Nearly 20,000 fans across 25 countries tuned in as Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin walked listeners through the EP in real time. They shared behind-the-scenes stories, answered fan questions, and gave everyone a front-row seat to their creative process. One standout moment? Pablo revealed that “Shooting for the Stars” was originally written for PAGTATAG! but found its true home in this new era.

Spotify is also taking over The Setlist playlist until June 7, curating the ultimate soundtrack for SB19’s two-night Simula at Wakas World Tour Kickoff concert on May 31 and June 1. It’s a pre- and post-concert companion that spans every era—from Go Up to now.

Their streams have grown by 153% year-on-year, and their global reach continues to expand, with strong listenership in the U.S., Canada, Singapore, and the UAE.
