#MusicPH - Voices in Harmony: 35 Choirs Unite for AOVICF Manila 2025
This August, Manila becomes the stage for a breathtaking celebration of music, culture, and community as the 6th Andrea O. Veneracion International Choral Festival (AOVICF) brings together 35 choirs from across the Philippines and around the world. From August 20 to 24, the halls of Areté at Ateneo de Manila University will come alive with the sound of voices blending in perfect harmony.
Named in honor of National Artist for Music Andrea O. Veneracion, founder of the iconic Philippine Madrigal Singers, the festival is more than a competition—it’s a cultural exchange, a tribute to tradition, and a celebration of artistry.
Presented by the Cultural Center of the Philippines, in collaboration with the Philippine Madrigal Singers and Areté, the festival features six distinct categories: Children’s Choir, Equal Voices, Folk Song and Indigenous Music, Mixed Choir, Musica Sacra, and Popular Music. Each category showcases the diversity and depth of choral music, from sacred compositions to reimagined pop favorites.
Among the participating groups are standout ensembles like Novo Concertante Manila, MSU-IIT Octava Choral Society, Coro Jesu, and Silay City Chorale, alongside rising talents such as Bacoor Hope Children’s Chorus and UNP Danggay Saririt Vocal Ensemble. These choirs will not only compete but also collaborate, learn, and build lasting friendships through shared musical experiences.
The festival isn’t just for the performers—it’s for everyone who finds joy in music. The Opening and Closing Ceremonies are free to the public, while tickets to the competition are available for PHP 500. The grand Festival Finale Concert, featuring the Philippine Madrigal Singers, will be held on August 24 at 3:00 PM at Hyundai Hall, with Orchestra seats at PHP 2,000 and Balcony seats at PHP 1,500.
