#CulturePH - Global Youth Summit 2025: Filipino Youth Lead the Charge for Change

There’s a special energy that fills a room when young people gather with a shared purpose—and this year, the Global Youth Summit 2025 proved just how powerful that energy can be. Organized by SM Cares, the summit brought together over 40,000 young leaders, innovators, and advocates from Luzon to Mindanao, transforming bold visions into real impact for communities nationwide.

A Movement Across the Philippines

What makes this summit stand out isn’t just the scale—it’s the spirit of collaboration and empowerment that swept through 17 SM malls, each hosting its own summit anchored on one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). From thought-provoking discussions to hands-on activities, youth groups and student advocates tackled themes of sustainability, innovation, leadership, and community building.

Whether it was a student raising a powerful question in Butuan, changemakers pledging to lead with purpose in Dagupan, or youth advocates celebrating empowerment in Iloilo, every provincial leg became a platform for young Filipinos to share solutions and drive positive change.

Voices That Shape the Future

Royston Cabunag, SM Cares Program Director for Children and Youth, summed it up perfectly: “The youth are not just leaders of tomorrow—they are a driving force for change today.” Leonard Faustino of Global Peace Foundation Philippines echoed this, highlighting how collaboration across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao has created one of the largest youth platforms in the country.

The summit’s heart was its nationwide reach, giving young people in local communities the chance to contribute to projects aligned with the SDGs and to be heard on a national stage.
