#FoodPH - Mang Inasal’s Iloilo Homecoming: A Fresh Look, A Future-Ready Experience

There’s something special about coming home—especially when home is where a beloved Filipino food tradition began. Mang Inasal, the country’s Grill Expert, has just reopened its very first store at Robinsons Place Iloilo, and the celebration was nothing short of a feast for the senses.

On August 31, 2025, Mang Inasal marked the blessing and digital relaunch of its original branch, which first opened its doors in 2003. The event was a joyful gathering led by Mang Inasal President Mike V. Castro, brand ambassador Coco Martin, and Iloilo City Vice Mayor Love Baronda. Their presence highlighted the brand’s deep roots in Iloilo and its ongoing commitment to innovation.

From its humble beginnings—a single store founded by Edgar “Injap” Sia II—Mang Inasal has grown into a household name, now boasting over 570 branches nationwide. Its signature Chicken Inasal, Unli-Rice, and the iconic Ihaw-Sarap (deliciously grilled) experience have made it a staple for millions of Filipinos. Backed by the Jollibee Group, Mang Inasal is more than just a restaurant; it’s a symbol of Filipino entrepreneurial spirit and pride.

The reopening was more than a nostalgic nod to the past—it was a bold leap into the future. Mang Inasal unveiled its new 5G (fifth generation) store design, a modern concept that promises a faster, smarter, and more delightful dining experience. The upgraded store features a streamlined kitchen, an improved Takeout Express, the brand’s first Cashless Express Kiosk, and a Mang Inasal Heritage Wall that pays tribute to its Iloilo origins while embracing digital convenience.

“This 5G store design is our way of making every Mang Inasal experience better for our customers,” said Castro. “We’re excited for everyone to see and feel this transformation as we roll out more future-ready stores.”

The festivities included the unveiling of the Heritage Wall, a vibrant Dinagyang-inspired performance, and a touching number by the Don Bosco Boys Home Choir—moments that celebrated Mang Inasal’s strong community ties and hopeful outlook.

As Mang Inasal returns to its roots, it renews its promise to bring Unli-Saya (unlimited fun) to diners everywhere, whether you’re dining in, grabbing takeout, driving through, or ordering for delivery. The journey from a small Iloilo eatery to a national icon is a flavorful story of Filipino pride, innovation, and the joy of sharing great food.
