#FinancePH - Empowering the Everyday Entrepreneur: GCash and Suy Sing Team Up to Support Small Businesses Across the Philippines
In the heart of every neighborhood is a sari-sari store, a mini-mart, or a local bakery—small businesses that keep communities running and families thriving. These humble enterprises are more than just places to buy essentials; they’re lifelines, often run by hardworking individuals who pour their time, energy, and dreams into every transaction.
Recognizing the vital role these businesses play, GCash’s lending arm, Fuse, has partnered with Suy Sing Commercial Corporation, one of the country’s leading wholesale grocery suppliers, to make credit more accessible to small business owners nationwide.
A Boost for the Backbone of the Economy
Through this partnership, small business owners can now access zero-interest loans via GGives for Business, a financing solution designed to help them restock inventory, expand operations, and manage cash flow more effectively. With loan amounts starting at just ₱3,000 and flexible repayment terms of 7 or 14 days, the program is tailored to meet the real-world needs of community retailers.
For many of these entrepreneurs, this marks their first step into formal credit—an empowering move that opens doors to growth and long-term stability.
More Than Just a Loan
This initiative isn’t just about money—it’s about empowerment. “GGives for Business is a commitment to financial inclusion,” said Fuse CEO Anthony Isidro. “By enabling access to working capital, we hope to empower small business owners to keep their shelves stocked and their businesses thriving.”
The program was officially launched during the Suy Sing Suki Event Convention last May 4, tapping into Suy Sing’s extensive network of partner retailers. This strategic rollout ensures that the support reaches those who need it most—right at the grassroots level.
Building Stronger Communities
Elma Ainza, Suy Sing’s Vice President for Sales, emphasized the deeper impact of the partnership: “This is more than just access to financing; it’s a way to empower our retailers with the confidence and stability they need to grow their businesses sustainably.”
Racquel Holazo-Amurao, Head of Business Development at Fuse, echoed this sentiment, noting that when small businesses thrive, entire communities benefit. “This is a step toward making financial solutions more inclusive and accessible.”
A Shared Vision for Inclusion
Both GCash and Fuse are committed to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those focused on financial inclusion, equity, and community resilience. By working together, they’re not just offering loans—they’re creating opportunities and building a more inclusive financial future for Filipinos.
