#TheaterPH - Fall in Love Again with PETA's Award-Winning Musical 'Walang Aray

 Get ready to laugh and fall in love all over again as the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) brings back the award-winning musical "Walang Aray" from August 29 to October 12, 2025, at the PETA Theater Center. This witty and hilarious reimagining of Severino Reyes’ classic zarzuela "Walang Sugat" promises to be a delightful treat for theater enthusiasts.

"Walang Aray" captivated audiences with 58 shows in 2023 and swept the 2024 Gawad Buhay Awards, winning eight major awards, including Outstanding Musical and Outstanding Ensemble Performance. The musical also earned accolades for its direction, choreography, and performances, making it a standout production.

As PETA kicks off its 58th theater season with the theme of Love and Power, "Walang Aray" returns with a sharper text and refreshed staging. Director Ian Segarra, now joined by Associate Director Norbs Portales, breathes new life into the beloved musical while preserving its original charm. Rody Vera’s script continues to highlight themes of resistance and romance, enhanced with contemporary references. Vince Lim, who won the Gawad Buhay for Outstanding Original Score, adds a playful new song to the musical’s infectious pop catalog.

The refreshed edition features an exciting lineup of new cast members alongside the original award-winning leads. Gio Gahol and Jon Abella return as Tenyong, with Shaira Opsimar and Marynor Madamesila reprising their role as Julia. New faces include triple-threat artist Lance Reblando, who debuts as the feisty and endearing Julia. The cast also includes Bene Manaois, Kiki Baento, Carlon Matobato, Neomi Gonzales, Gie Onida, Csairus Habla, Johnnie Moran, and a talented supporting ensemble.

Adding more excitement to the lineup are Philippine pop culture icons Jolina Magdangal and Ice Seguerra. Magdangal joins as the quirky Doña Juana, while Seguerra plays Lucas, the loyal sidekick of Tenyong.

Tickets for "Walang Aray" will be available starting June 28 via ticket2me.net. Metrobank credit cardholders can enjoy an exclusive pre-sale from June 28 to July 1, 2025, with the public sale starting on July 2, 2025. Ticket prices range from P1,200 to P2,500.
